Scope
This Privacy Notice applies to personal information we process through the Onmode mobile app and our website at onmode.fit (together, the “Services”). It explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights. Seebit Interactive Agency SRL is the controller of your personal information. We process personal information in accordance with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other applicable laws.
Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you as required by law, for example in the App or by email. By continuing to use the Services after the updated Notice takes effect, you accept it. Please review this Notice periodically.
Personal Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account: your name and email address, and basic profile information from Apple or Google if you sign in with them.
- Profile and goals: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, goal and pace, dietary preferences, eating window, reminder times, and similar answers you give to personalize the App.
- Meals: photos, voice notes (turned into text), and text descriptions of meals you submit, plus the calories, macros, ingredients, times, and notes associated with them.
- Trackers: weigh-ins, water, workouts, fasting windows, and, if you use medication tracking, the medication name, dose, schedule, and the days you take it.
- Conversations with Oni: messages you send Oni in writing or by voice. Your chat history is kept on your phone. Short notes Oni keeps about you to personalize replies (things you tell Oni and summaries of past chats) are stored with your Account; you can see or delete them in Settings.
- Purchases: your subscription status. App Store purchases are processed by Apple and website purchases (where offered) by Stripe; we never receive or store full card numbers.
- Communications: what you send us through the contact form, email, surveys, or the early access list.
Information collected automatically
When you use the App we automatically collect device and usage information such as IP address, device model and operating system, app version, device and app identifiers, settings, approximate location derived from IP address, and how you interact with the App (screens viewed, features used, frequency and duration of use). We use product analytics (PostHog and Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics) to understand and improve the App.
Screen recordings. PostHog may record sessions of how you use the App to help us find and fix problems. Text you type is masked and recording pauses while the camera is open. You can turn recordings off at any time in Settings → Privacy & data.
Ad measurement. We use AppsFlyer to learn which ads brought people to the App. If you allow tracking when iOS asks (App Tracking Transparency), AppsFlyer receives your device’s advertising identifier. If you decline, it does not, and measurement relies on aggregated data from Apple. The App works the same either way.
Information from other sources
If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize them to share. If you connect Apple Health where the App offers it, we read only the data types you approve (such as workouts), and only to provide the features you turn on. We may also receive aggregated campaign information from our advertising and measurement partners.
How We Use Your Information
To provide the Services
- analyze your meals and provide calorie and macro estimates, coaching, targets, recipes, reminders, and progress reports;
- let Oni reply to you in chat and in voice conversations you start;
- create and manage your Account, sync your data across your devices, and let you access features;
- manage subscriptions and verify purchases;
- respond to support requests and communicate with you about your Account, updates, and policy changes.
Administrative and safety purposes
- operate, secure, debug, and improve the Services and develop new features;
- detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- measure engagement and conduct research using aggregated, de-identified data;
- enforce our Terms and comply with legal obligations.
Marketing and advertising
We may send you product news and marketing emails, which you can stop with the unsubscribe link. We measure our advertising as described above. We never use your meals, health information, medication data, or conversations with Oni for advertising.
Improving estimates and coaching
We may use content you submit, in de-identified form, to evaluate and improve the quality of our estimates and coaching, as described in our Terms.
Health Information
Some of what you share is health information: weight, meals, eating window, workouts, and medication doses. We use it only to provide the Services to you and to improve them. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and we do not share it with advertising partners or data brokers.
Data from Apple Health, if you connect it, is used only for the features you turn on. It is never used for advertising or marketing and is never disclosed to third parties for those purposes.
Under the GDPR, we process health information on the basis of your explicit consent. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the data in the App, disconnecting Apple Health, or deleting your Account.
This Website and Cookies
onmode.fit does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser’s local storage. When you use the contact form or the early access form, we receive what you enter and send it to our inbox through Resend. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your Account is active and as needed to provide the Services, then for the period required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your Account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where retention is required by law; residual copies may persist briefly in backups. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to answer and follow up. Early access emails are kept until we invite you or you ask us to remove yours.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and periodic reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Onmode is not a HIPAA-covered entity and is not a medical device.
International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for cross-border transfers.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You can export your data (your meals as CSV and everything as JSON) and delete your Account directly in the App: Settings → Privacy & data. To exercise any right, use the contact form or email [email protected]. We will respond as required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
EEA and UK (GDPR)
Our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Services), your consent (for health information, screen recordings, ad tracking, and certain marketing), our legitimate interests (for example securing and improving the Services), and compliance with legal obligations. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in Romania, that is the ANSPDCP.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell personal information. If you allow tracking on iOS, install and purchase events may be shared with ad networks to measure our ads, which California law may treat as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time by turning off tracking for Onmode in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or by contacting us. California residents may also request access, deletion, and correction, and may limit the use of sensitive personal information, by emailing [email protected].
Children
The Services are not intended for anyone under 16 (or a higher age where required locally). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Contact
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, use the contact form, email [email protected], or write to Seebit Interactive Agency SRL, Str. Infratirii nr. 6, Targu Mures, Romania.
